We’re back with Zach Shallcross this week in Hungary, Budapest. Jesse Palmer lets him know that Grier is on her way as she has finished her time in quarantine. With Hometowns being around the corner, we know that things will be getting very real quickly on ABC’s The Bachelor.
The Date Card arrives with Kaity getting the 1-on-1. They are going to explore the city and see the views of the city. They see the sites and have fun experiences that are indicative of Hungary.
The next date card arrives and Ariel, Charity, Gabi and Kat will be on the group date. That means that Brooklyn will get the 1-on-1 date which is the last one before Hometowns is decided. Kat is very upset, but it feels like she took so many moments last week that were annoying, that we’re not surprised that she is not on a 1-on-1 date.
As Kaity and Zach have dinner, they dig a bit deeper and we hear about her backstory and how she didn’t have a great consistent male figure in her life. She explains who he would meet if he was meeting her family. Her heartfelt story garners her a date night rose. They end the evening at a bath house that they have all to themselves.
Well, Greer is preparing to come back so that she can tell Zach all of the things that she has wanted to say over the past 6 days. Before that, the group date is beginning. They’re in a theater that’s giving haunted vibes. Apparently, Budapest is the birthplace of magic and they play some games. The magician is also a mentalist so he reads the women and pulls various words from them to share things about them. Unfortunately, the women feel a little iffy after this date which exposed some cracks.
The women debrief after the group date as they all talk about how it broke them down. They all hope to have a better conversation during this portion of the cocktail party. Somehow the women need to pull through and continue to connect with Zach to get over the odd emotions from the first part of the date.
Once again, even when there were large group dates, Zach makes a great effort at giving 1-on-1 time with everyone. So the fact after such a vulnerable group date that he is making sure to give that time is something that we can appreciate that he does.
The group date rose goes to Gabi! He’s definitely meeting her parents. So far 2 people that we have known for awhile would go to Hometowns are locked in! Greer meets him and looks to reconnect after so much time and finds that Zach feels that there is no way that he can give her a rose heading into Hometowns.
We finally see the 1-on-1 date with Zach and Brooklyn. She is another person (along with Charity) that we have rooted for in terms of going to Hometowns. We love that she always stands for what’s right, isn’t afraid to put people in their place when they have overstepped and is the hype girl that you want to have all while being able to rock it at your next rodeo!
They enjoy a tethered hot air balloon, they go to an outdoor public bath house and we hope that things will continue to go well as we’d love to see her at Hometowns and can only imagine what her family would be like.
After a number of activities throughout the day, they sit down for dinner where she talks more about her family and who he will meet - her mother and her grandfather. Zach steps away to collect his thoughts and we know what happens when he does this - he sends her home. WE hope to see her for The Bachelorette.
The remaining ladies head to the rose ceremony as Gabi and Kaity are locked. This is an epic night as we all know how important it is to make it to Hometowns. He gives roses to Ariel and Charity!
Next week we will have Ariel, Charity, Gabi and Kaity which is a great group for Hometowns.
ZACH GIVES ROSES TO | Ariel, Charity, Gabi and Kaity
ZACH DOESN’T GIVE A ROSE TO | Brooklyn, Greer and Kat
Each night during the season, we tweet about The Bachelor and you can chat along with us (@AthleisureMag + with our Co-Founder/Creative + Style Director, Kimmie Smith @ShesKimmie) to see what’s taking place!
Each week we will let you know who our faves were from the last episode and if we’ve changed up since then as it pertains to who we think should go to Hometowns.
We also suggest a podcast that we’ve become obsessed with over the past few seasons, Wondery’s Bachelor Happy Hour to get their feedback!
