We’re definitely living during strange times. We’re working from home, taking on a number of roles that we have never had to and we find that we’re always looking to change it up when it comes to adding a little variety to how we spend out time inbetween Zoom calls, projects and so much more. Pre COVID-19, we took our lunch break, popped by a neighbors cubicle or office to get a 5 mins escape or even took a moment at our desks. Being at home presents its challenges, but we have 5 ways that you can take a break while you’re WFH.
FITNESS BREAK
Sometimes we find that hours have gone by and we’re navigating projects, meetings and making note of what to do next. The day gets away from us and we realize that we’ve barely gotten up from our desk or couch and have been glued to our screens. It’s important to get up and walk around to ensure that you’re staying lucid as well as getting in a bit of fitness. Whether you’re doing stretches, meditation or 10-15 minutes of movement! We always have a number of apps that we enjoy using and when it comes to only using 7 minutes of your time, we suggest visiting 7 Minute Workout: Fitness App.
WATERCOOLER BREAK
It’s so important in this current time of social distancing and ensuring that you’re being safe as you navigate your life, to check up on those that you would usually see in person or who live away from you. As social people, it’s important to be able to laugh with one another, see one another’s faces and more. Whether you do a personal Zoom, Facetime or use Google Hangouts, this is a great way to make sure that you’re maintaining your relationships, continuing positive mental health and just getting back to basics with people that love you and know you. Make it as in person as possible – even though you’re virtual!
GAMING BREAK
Sometimes, you need to zone out for a few minutes or maybe a meeting was pushed back and you have more time on your hands. We’re all for playing responsibly so heading over to an online live casino is a great way to keep your mind engaged, play a variety of games and to keep yourself motivated throughout your day.
ORGANIZATION BREAK
It’s amazing how many of us have switched up our living spaces! Whether you’ve focused on enhancing your backyard, bedroom or other living areas in your home – making your space your own has become an essential since we spend so much time there. Sometimes, when we work from our desks, we find that piles of paper and other items begin to stack up. When you need a break, taking a few minutes to do a power clean allows your space to stay fresh while letting you come up for air throughout the day. For inspiration, we always enjoy looking at this feed to get home décor inspiration.
COCKTAIL BREAK
A great way to end the day is to have a cocktail. Once your work is done, it’s a nice way to transition from a busy day to your home duties. You can also see if other co-workers want to join you via Zoom or other friends that you know would be interested. If you are living with other people in your bubble, you can make this an event to connect to catch up on what you’re doing as well as upcoming plans. If you live in an area that has outdoor dining, this is also a great way to engage with others that are socially distanced.
